Now that my thesis is almost behind I can get back into the swing of things. I cant wait till May 14 when school comes to an end. I will have my Wednesday and Friday evenings back which translate into more time for fitness. Not to mention the time that will be saved preparing for class and writing papers, etc. I cant wait!!! But I have learned that I need better ways to cope with being busy. I have to better balance my time so I can still focus on my workouts when I get overwhelmed. I also notice that when I am not working out my diet also suffers.
For the last week or so I embraced the concept of comfort food. Yes, I had to stay up late and yes I had to work hard but at least I could have a cookie. No, this is not a correct mind set but I am simply telling you the truth. After being up till 12:30am one night and having to wake up at 5:00 to get to work getting up and eating cookie dough was my biggest motivation. Was that right? No, Did it work? But the biggest problem with eating "what I want" is it makes me feel terrible. I am much more sluggish when I get "what I want" and have a lot less energy during classes. Eating right (which often means lighter) just works better for my body.
With that in mind, I am going to eat the way I am suppose to it. It gives me energy and keeps me from gaining weight (which I tend to do fairly quickly without exercise and the proper eating habits). There is no getting around it. So, I have decided to start counting points again to give me a sense of accountability. I actually think its fun in some cases. How well can I eat to stay within my parameters. I am going to count for the next 30 days (at least).
Today:
B-yogurt, blue berries (3)
L-100 calories bread with turkey (5)
S-muscle milk light (2)
D-tuna and brown rice (8)
Exercise: Abs, 45 min elliptical
Im on the move!!
Alright sounds good. We will be watching!!!
