Day 71: Thursday, 1/21

I had a good day. I made it to work early for cardio starting off with a 30 min walk/run (2.25 miles) and ended with a 15 bike ride. The walk/run was a mix of jogging and walking on a incline (8-9). I walked on a hill at 4.2mph for .25 and jogged for .50. I tried to keep my heart rate about 140 on the bike.

At lunch I sweated it out in the Flex with Lex class, which was fun but tiring. It consisted of squat kicks off a bench, push-ups, core muscle work, wall sits, etc. I did some additional weights this evening (ass pull-ups-wide grip), Bench press, Cable Crosses on the Cable Column (CC), Lateral/Frontal Raises, Triceps Pull-Downs and Bicep Curls on the CC.

I am trying to incorporate more vegetables in my diet like my friend Joe :) He introduced me to Edamame, a soybean which name means "Beans on Branches". I wasn't aware that was only to eat the pods inside the "bean" until I ate one whole. It process didn't seem quite right. Then I talked to one of my health professional friends who had had edamame at a Japanese restaurant and she said that you only eat the pods. Interesting! I think that's my new snack. I hear it has laxative properties. Ummm. I will let you know about that.

I ate the following:
B-turkey sausage, 100 calorie
S-grapefruit
L-1/2 chicken mango salsa wrap
S-2 teaspoons or pnb
D-2 egg white omelet with salsa and .25 cup of shredded cheese
1 cup soy milk

Comments: The grapefruit was really filling. I liked the omelet and it didnt take long to make!
